I received my DNP in 2012 from the University of Maryland and my Masters in Nursing from the University of Hawaii in 1991. I have been a pediatric APRN-NP for 28 years, with a specialty in oncology (specifically neuro-oncology) and palliative care. I have worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings in a pediatric acute care, academic health system. I have extensive experience in building and sustaining pediatric palliative care programs, and in fostering creative connections with hospices. I also have build a primary palliative care education and mentoring program that has been replicated in several hospitals and systems throughout the country. Other areas of interest include: building staff resiliency, pain and symptom management in pediatric palliative care, and integrating pediatric palliative care in chronic illness.
