Dr. Lyndsay DeGroot PhD, RN, CNE is a nurse scientist, educator, and leader passionate about palliative care for older adults with multiple chronic conditions and their caregivers. Her ICU nursing experience caring for patients and families facing critical illness inspires her current research. She received her PhD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and her dissertation research focused on examining the unmet palliative care needs of community-dwelling patients with heart failure and physical frailty. Her research is supported by the National Institute of Nursing Research (F31) and National Institute on Aging (T32). She recently received the Heart Failure Society of America New Nursing Investigator Award for her research.
