Bio

I am 42 yr old currently residing in Ohio.  I have been married to my amazing husband for 4 years now, together 10 yrs. I have a 25 yr old daughter, 13 yr old step daughter and 4 yr old grandson. I love being on the beach. The sounds of the waves and the smell in the air cleanses my soul and is so relaxing. My dream is to one day be what we call here in Ohio, snow birds. This means to spend time in winter down south, usually Florida, then the summer in Ohio. I would also love to travel to the Caribbean.

I started off my nursing career as a LPN in 2000. Mostly working in LTC settings, caring for geriatric & dementia patients. I found my love for hospice during this time. Not much was taught or even explained about this topic so I had no idea you could become a hospice nurse. I wanted to badly to become a hospice nurse I decided to continue my career and graduated with my RN in 2008. Due to financial reasons I worked for quite some time in ICU and behind the scenes as a clinical charge analyst. I also found myself back in LTC, caring for geriatric & dementia patients. This is when I realized that enough is enough and it is time to continue my career and once again find my home with hospice. I started as a RN case manager while going to school for my nurse practitioner. During this time I knew I was finally where my heart called home. I am still with same company and transitioned into the NP role in 2017 and haven't looked back. Hospice is where my heart and soul belongs. I will continue to advocate and support hospice care & hoping to continue my journey with helping others as well.
