I have worked in Palliative and Hospice care as an RN for about 8 years. When I got my FNP in 2019, I was a part of a pilot program to bring NPs on staff at SNFs. Unfortunately, Covid-19 caused a drop in the census and I was furloughed. I started working for Palliative Care Doctors Group about a year ago and have found the work interesting and challenging. The category does not fit a standard model, as the NPs with this company do not see patients in a clinic but either through telehealth, their home or a facility. Mt medical director suggested that I become certified and that is the area that I am pursuing now.
