I have worked at MJHS in Brooklyn NY for the past 20 years. 17 of those years in Home health care, with the last 3 years in Hospice Care. I have always avoided Hospice, but with the last round of layoffs I was offered a position in hospice care. Hospice is very challenging! Especially dealing with families in denial, families filled with guilt, and families with other motives that do not benefit the patient.
I am also an adjunct nursing instructor at Mercy College
I am seeking CHPN certification as this is one of the requirement of the program.
