The Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) is seeking individuals to serve on the ACHPN®, CHPLN®, CHPN®, and CHPNA® Exam Development Committees (EDC) and the ACHPN® and CHPN® Situational Judgment Exercise (SJE) Committees.
As an exam development committee/situational judgment committee member, you will be responsible for reviewing exam questions, producing written exercise items, writing exam items as needed, mentoring a member of the item writing committee, and additional activities related to the certification exam/situational judgment exercise as assigned.
The requirements to participate in the committee include:
- Attend in-person or virtual committee meetings as scheduled. Meetings will be held yearly or biennially depending on the committee. HPCC will cover the cost of travel arrangements for all in-person meetings.
- Attend two to four conference calls annually.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all exam items and committee work, both during and after your time served on the committee.
- Understand that you may not endorse or participate in review courses, publications, videos, or any other programs designed specifically to prepare individuals for the HPCC Certification Examination during your time of service and for two years afterward.
- Reliable computer and internet access with a working speaker and telephone to participate in virtual meetings and work sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
HPCC EDC members are discouraged from service on other related National Boards or Committees during their term of service. Plans should be discussed with the EDC/SJE Chair before making a commitment that would coincide with the term of service.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to communicate to their employers the time and travel commitments and responsibilities associated with the HPCC Examination Development Committee.
