2026 State Community Committee

HPNA is looking for members from the membership body with an expressed interest, experience, or expertise in community building, local networking, and/or investment in the growth of the HPNA State Based Communities program. 

The projects for this committee will include but are not limited to:

• Create guidelines and best practices for establishing and maintaining State-Based Communities that emphasize inclusivity, engagement.
• Design strategies to increase member participation within State-Based Communities, ensuring that all HPNA members in each state feel welcome and empowered to engage.
• Conduct surveys or gather feedback from HPNA members within each state to understand the unique needs, challenges, and priorities of hospice and palliative care nurses in those area.
• Develop support resources, such as toolkits or online training modules, to guide these leaders in fostering effective communication, creating engagement opportunities, and ensuring that communities remain vibrant and active.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the State-Based Communities program

The committee term limit will be three years with the option to apply for a second three-year term.
